Bespoke Tutoring
Bespoke Tutoring was founded by Catrina Tavares, who wanted to establish a tutoring company with affordable prices for clients ensuring that private tuition can be available to everyone. In addition, we have low commission rates to allow tutors to be compensated appropriately.
To ensure that your child is receiving the highest calibre of teaching, we conduct a three-stage interview process before employing any tutors. After each lesson, the tutor will provide feedback and let you know if there is any homework that needs to be done. This will allow you to be active in your child's education and encourage them to work independently as well.
Although we are classed as a tutoring agency, I like to refer to it as a 'community of tutors', as we work as a team to support one another to ensure we remain student-orientated at all times. Contrary to many tutoring agencies, we maintain regular communication with parents, tutors, and students.
At the end of each term, we aim to give parents feedback on how your child has been progressing and check in with the student and parent to see if there are any areas that they would like to improve on.
We mainly cover Maths and English, since they have the highest demand however if there is another subject that your child needs help with, please do ask as many of our tutors have specialisms in other areas too!
About Catrina
My name is Catrina and I am an Inclusive Learning Officer in a post 16 educational setting full time and private Tutor part time. I have a Bsc degree in Psychology and have a background working in the Mental Health & Youth sector. I started tutoring in 2018, as I have always had a passion for helping others and at the time, I was working as a Specialist Learning Assistant supporting 16-19 year olds in vocational subjects, as well as those retaking their Maths & English GCSE's.
I chose the slogan 'love learning' as many students who require tuition in a chosen subject often do so through struggling with that subject. I wanted to ensure all of the lessons provided a fun learning environment which allowed the students to love learning again.
I absolutely love receiving constant feedback from both students and parents on their progress and achievements. It is very rewarding to know we have helped them achieve well academically, as well as building their confidence towards learning too!
